Here is a quick and easy craft for the seasoned and new traveller alike. There is nothing worse than a wet toothbrush in your bag or an exploded toothpaste which makes this travel toiletries roll a winner.
This is a pretty easy craft and a very quick one if you have a sewing machine. The hardest part (for me anyway) is picking out the towels and the coordinating ribbon. I will point out that you will need a thinner hand towel. Remember that it is going to be rolled up and space is important while packing. I also find that it makes leaving a hotel room in a hurry late for a flight easier as you know if you are missing anything in your roll. Tip- make then bright so that they don’t get left behind.
The first step is to work out how many thins you are wanting to roll. Think about things that are likely to get wet like your toothbrush and razor and things that are likely to explode like your toothpaste.
Once you have your hand towel picked out, fold up the bottom to make a pocket and make sure that it is big enough to so that your taller items (toothbrush and toothpaste) don’t stick out the top. Measure out the width of the pockets that you would like and then sew vertically to create the pockets. Because you are sewing onto towels, the lines disappear into the fabric which makes it a little more forgiving to new sewers. Make sure to sew in a ribbon in the fold to hold it together!
That is literally it! Make one for each member of the family so that you are good to go!
